Permit Clear

PURPOSE:  The PERMIT CLEAR command clears all or selected passwords and cipher keys that have been entered.  This allows any password to be cleared without logging off the system or leaving the ACCENT R environment.  A specific password or cipher key can also be cleared.

SYNTAX

PERMIT CLEAR [PASSWORD IS {password; TERMINAL}] [KEY IS {cipher_key; TERMINAL}]

password specifies the password to be cleared that is associated with the Data Base Library (DBL) or DBL object.
TERMINAL prompts the user for the password from the screen.  The password does not echo on the screen when it is entered.
cipher_key specifies the cipher key to be cleared that is associated with the DBL, Data Set (DS), or Data Index (DI).
TERMINAL prompts the user for the cipher key from the screen.  The cipher key does not echo on the screen when it is entered.

*PERMIT CLEAR<CR>

NOTES:  If the permit clear password  or permit clear key clause is not  present, ACCENT R clears all passwords and cipher been entered in the session.

To clear DBA level security, use the form PERMIT CLEAR.
